Use just one or two keywords for each blog post:

It is the best practice to use only one keyword for optimizing each post. Find such a keyword which has more search but is low competitive. Try to use long keyword phrase because this is low competitive. You can use other related keywords in blog post. If you use many keywords for a single post, your post may not get the first position in SERP. In this post I have used a main keyword “how to use keywords” and other related keywords.

Use keywords in your blog post title, URL and heading tags:

You must use your main keyword in Title, URL, other Heading tags and meta data. This is the most basic step, which is that you must always keep the keywords in your post title. The post title must contain a long tail keyword to optimize it for search results. Don’t try to lose the keywords in the title for sake of making the title compelling to click. Learn

Use rich keywords of your content in post title, post URL, meta description, heading tags and several times throughout your entire post body. The main keyword of your post should be used 3 times in every 200 words (1.5% of total word count). You can also use other related closely related keywords in content.

Use your keywords in the appropriate places:

The most important places to use your keywords are your page titles, meta descriptions, and headings. While you do not have to fill in a meta description (search engines will use whatever text is relevant), it helps the search engines know what you consider important. You should also consider putting your keywords in bold and near the beginning of your titles, headings, and content.

Right keywords:

Use long-tail keywords to improve your chances. Long-tail keywords are multi-word keyword phrases, typically consisting of three or more words. While each long-tail keyword has much lower search volume.

Drop Keyword in First 100 Words: Your keyword should appear in the first 100-150 words of the article. This is something that you probably do naturally.

Never Stuff Keywords:

Never try to put irrelevant, too much and repeated keywords because if search engines may ban a site which do keyword stuffing. If you want relevant and targeted traffic to visit your site then place relevant keywords, before placing any keyword first try to investigate whether your visitor will get enough or relevant information relating to that keyword else it will result in bounce back which will degrade your page rank.

Synonyms & Related Keywords: I personally like to use synonyms instead of having a high keyword density. This helps to make my content sound natural but still helps in SEO.

Long Tail Keywords:

It’s often good to target some long tail keywords as they are comparatively easier to rank for. During your keyword research you should be able to gather some good long tail keywords that you can optimize your site for. But you can also come up with your own long tail keywords; for example try adding some common words like – ‘best’, ‘free’, ‘cheap’, ‘top’ etc. along with your actual keyword and you might eventually get some good long tail keywords.

Related Keyword as the Category: Your category title should be closely related to the page and URL keywords

Appropriate keyword: You should check Google AdWords and choose the most appropriate one to use for your blog. But it won’t be good if you choose a keyword that has millions of competitors on the Web, as no one will find your blog among them. So, choose a keyword with in about 5 000 monthly researches, and it will work much better to you.

Remember about keywords: Never forget about keywords. They are a guarantee, that your blog will appear in search engine results. Google won’t be able to find it among millions of other sources on the Web, so, don’t be lazy to spread appropriate keywords in your blog’s content. They should be present in titles, descriptions, and articles’ bodies themselves. But it doesn’t mean that you should use them everywhere you can and make the text look like a simple heap of word combinations with no connections between them. Keywords should be used very wisely.

Keywords in Content: Keywords should be used throughout your content. Variations of your keywords (known as LSI keywords) are also important.

Post Meta Keywords:

This is one of the most crucial part which we tends to ignore. Every post you write is important from ranking and traffic point of view. Google sees every blog post as a different webpage, so you can rank every post for certain keywords. Most common mistake which we make is by using the generic keywords in every blog post. For example when we write a post with the title.
